Wouldn't Buy Again - Freezer Didn't Last 2 Years!

We purchased our B21CT80SNS/02 refrigerator from Airport Appliance in San Jose in 2020. Great delivery and purchasing experience from AA, but we should have bought the extended warranty! First the icemaker stopped working/the freezer wasn't actually freezing food. We replaced the water filter thinking it was clogged, to no avail. Then a few weeks later the freezer stopped working altogether. At least the refrigerator still works, but it's absolutely ridiculous that this $3k+ refrigerator didn't last two years. What's even more frustrating is how few service providers work on Bosch refrigerators. Looks great, but this has turned me off of Bosch refrigerators / appliances in the future.

Failed completely in less than 2 years

Fridge lasted 1 year 8 months before failing completely. After 4 repair visits, it's been determined that it's not fixable. Both the freezer and refridgerator have stopped working. This was the first time we tried a Bosch. Very disappointing.

I would give 5 stars because of it's design and features. However, it stopped working 2 months ago and it's been very difficult to get it repaired. This is my first Bosch refrigerator purchased in late 2019. So it's just at the 2 year mark. The manufacturers warranty is 1 yr. The problem involves the motherboard which has been ordered and now it's a matter of getting the parts which are still warranty covered. How is it possible to have these issues with such a new fridge....

Problem with icemaker

I like this fridge and have no complaints except that EVERY TIME we change the water filter, the icemaker stops working. I have been unable to find any fix online for this model. It is exasperating. Last time I had scheduled a service call and then it just started making ice out of the blue. This time it's been about a week and no ice.

Broken beyond repair in less than 2 years

We had this unit installed in October 2019 as part of a 4 piece matching set (refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher). The Microwave broke within the first year and we are still waiting for it to be replaced. First the freezer stopped cooling and then the fridge. The authorized repairman came and confirmed that freon was leaking and the heat exchange was not working. He confirmed with bosch that the unit is unrepairable.

A high-quality fridge

There isn't much to say about a fridge when it performs well -- it just gets out of your way. I've noticed that the temperature in this fridge is more consistent than lower-end fridges I've owned in the past. There aren't spots where food freezes, or where it's warmer -- and as a result, food stays fresher longer than in other fridges I've owned. There's similarly nothing to criticize in the freezer's performance or in the ice machine built into the freezer. That's it -- just a well-built appliance that does its job without any fuss.

I wanted a refrigerator which did not have a through the door water dispenser nor an ice dispenser. It does have a very efficient ice maker in the freezer section which is good. It has a reasonable size in both the refrigerator and freezer sections. The materials and finish work are excellent. The only noise is the occasional ice cube being deposited into the ice storage compartment, otherwise extremely quiet. The front of the refrigerator is very resistant to fingerprints. I have had the refrigerator for five weeks and so far am very pleased and have had no problems.

Looks pretty, dead after two years

B21CT80SNS lasted two years once it was installed, sealed system problem, lost fridge day before Thanksgiving, for $2700 I'd expect more than two years, Bosch won't do anything once out of warranty, so now $900 to repair defective refrigerator after only two years. Looks great, just doesn't work won't trust Bosch again

Our B21CT0SNB/01 lasted 13 months. If I could, I would give it a zero. Bought Bosch because we have had such good success with their dishwasher. We won't make tha mistake again. Bosch technicians have been out three times to fix it. The ice maker quit within a couple of weeks. The line frooze. It worked for a short time. The line frooze and water leeked out the connection on the back of the fridge. Fixed it again. Not working again. The different temperatures in sections and the inability of getting a working ice maker indicates major engineering flaws in this model. Avoid this refrigerator.

Build quality not as nice, ice maker won't stop

I just replaced a similar model that died after 2.5 years. This version looks great and cooled down super quick and is working very well for the most part. The build quality of the previous model (B21CL80SNS) seems to have been better. The drawers on this version don't seem to open, close or stay put as well. The shelf that can be slid in is extremely difficult to move. I am a big fan of the ice cubes in the previous version (pyramid shaped), and was disappointed to see that they changed them. The worst part is that the ice maker just doesn't seem to want to stop. The unit started beeping at me and I couldn't figure out why. It was cranking out ice and it got under the scoop, which then pushed the drawer open. This also caused substantial frost buildup. I removed the scoop, but it still happened about a week later. So now I have to disable the icemaker on this brand new $3k fridge, and turn it on when I need more ice. Contacting support for options...

Dents in freezer drawer

So far, the refrigerator has been a great addition to our kitchen. The downfall is that it seems like the stainless steel used is extremely thin and dents really easy. The dents also look like they came from manufacturing/assembly and not from shipping or installation or misuse.

Replacement Refrigerator

We had a Jenn-Aire Refigerator which was manufactured by Whirlpol. It lasted thirteen years and from what learned, the life span of such an applicance, is ten years. We also found that refigerators such as these are not to repaired but to be replaced. This refrigerator was much less in price than the Jenn-Aire, was larger and had LED lighting. We had less than a quarter inch to fit it into our space. We found the appliance men to be expert in replacement and in the disposal of the old machine. We are pleased that we did not have to wait for months for a new refigerator and that the quality exceeded our expectations.

Quality Issue - Cooling coil leak

14 months after the refrigerator was delivered, the freezer stopped freezing. The labor warranty is only for 12 months. Apparently there was a slow coolant leak in the cooling coils. Very disappointed in Bosch for not covering the $800 labor costs. Very disappointed that the new refrigerator leaked at all.
